Description
Sorrel knitting pattern is a classic baby dress which is knit in one piece from the bottom up in three sizes. The simple welted knit and purl detail at the hem and circular yoke add just the right detail without being fussy. The small gauge makes this dress comfortable and practical for wearing alone in warm weather and for under other a sweater in cooler weather. The dress will easily grow with baby and can be worn later as a shirt. The seamless construction adds comfort as well as being a time saver for the busy knitter. This fairly easy project is great for advanced beginners and beyond.
Materials: Knitting Notions Merino Bamboo or any soft light fingering weight yarn with 450-490 yards per 100g. 1 skein needed to make one garment in any of the sizes included.
Finished Dimensions: Chest circumference – 19” (20”) (21”) to fit approximately 0-3 months (6-12 months) (12-18 months) after washing and lightly blocked.
Yardage Requirements: (320-350) (375-400) (475-490) yards
Gauge: 29 stitches and 40 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch, washed and lightly blocked
Needles:
- Size 2 US (2.75mm) 16” or 20” circular needles
- Size 2US (2.75mm) double pointed needles (sleeves and top of yoke)
- (Or size needed to achieve gauge)
