In the Home Stretch

Carolan-edging

I have begun the edging on my Carolan Shawl, so it shouldn’t be long now. I like a shawl with a knitted on edging since it eliminates that long bind off at the end. This particular edging is pretty memorable so only brief glances at the chart are called for, which makes for faster progress. I think this one is going to be very popular in the booth, as are the others of this construction. The color is a bit hard to photograph without a light box though. I took this one in my hotel room a night or two ago, so it’s a bit off.

Yes, I am in a hotel again. This is the eighth hotel this month and I have a few more before I am home for about 6 weeks. I like what I do, but I am also conflicted when I leave my family, especially for longer stretches like this last one will be. I am going from Indianapolis tomorrow to Estes Park, CO, for the festival there next weekend. It will be two days of driving to get there, but I am excited to be able to get a booth and venture into a new market. It is our first time in this area. I am also a bit anxious about fitting my booth into a single 10×10 since that was all I was able to get in order to secure a spot this year. I normally take a double space. It will work somehow. I am a firm believer in the phrase “where there’s a will there’s a way”.

I am writing this post right before the market opens at the Hoosier Hills Fiber Festival this morning, and customers are arriving so I had better close for now. Next time will probably be from my cottage in Colorado. :-)
