Weekend Post

I don’t post on the weekend very often but I am having a quiet morning and thought I would take advantage of it. I have made a fair amount of progress on all three of my knitting projects. Thanks for all the kind comments on them. 😊

First is the Spiral Effect Cowl. I am enjoying the rhythm of the stitch pattern and the cheerful colors.

Next is the DeBussy shawl. This is a fun pattern too. Just interesting enough without requiring too much attention for Netflix knitting. 😉 I like this yarn so far and am interested to see how it behaves after blocking since it’s 75% cotton and 25% wool.

Lastly is my Sock in progress, Gridiron socks. This is also great for watching or listening to something while you knit. I haven’t made any socks for awhile so I am enjoying the process again and looking forward to wearing them too.

Oh and since someone asked in my last post about the device my sock in progress is in, I’ll tell you a bit about it. It’s a stitch keeper which we make and we call it a Sock Keeper. Its purpose is to keep your double pointed needles from sliding out of your project while it is in your knitting bag. It can be for any dpn project that is on smaller needle sizes. I have used it for gloves, mittens, sleeves, etc.

Ok, I better close since it’s getting late and there’s some work to be done before I can get back to my knitting. 🙂

Back to it

I am back to the afghan this month after finishing my sweater before Christmas. I am trying to stay on it and resist the temptation to start something new.

I was working on it by doing a new color every time I started a new piece until I had a whole row of each color. I had four of every color and planned at that point that I would need at least ten of each to make a good size lap blanket.

So now I have switched to just knitting all six I still need, one color at a time. When I have ten I move on to the next color. So the sum total of my knitting since my last post is six hexagons in the blue. Maybe I’ll have a lot more to show you in my next post.

In other news, we have a bunch of new Sock Keepers on the website. We already had some Cherry, Walnut and Oak but we have added back Mahogany plus a small stock of Maple for the first time ever. These are all available to order for $20 each. I love using mine whenever I am working with double point needles. It works for socks of course but also for mittens, gloves, sleeves, etc.
